Rutherford Vineyard

One can argue that the vineyards in Rutherford, in the heart of the Napa Valley were responsible for putting Napa Valley on the map. Perhaps no one said it better than the late, revered winemaker André Tchelistcheff, who proclaimed, "It takes Rutherford dust to grow great Cabernet."

We love the classic expression of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that can be found in Rutherford and chose a single vineyard east of the Napa River where our family has 45 years of winegrowing experience. The valley floor's warm climate and deep, well-drained soils produce vigorous vines that receive significant sun exposure. To moderate the sun's heat, a single-sided ballerina trellising system shades the fruit from intense morning sun.
